I am Assistant Professor of Political Science at the Department of Welfare and Labour Studies of the University of Milan, where I teach Social and Labour Policies in the EU (graduate) and Methodology of Political and Social Science (graduate). I am also Carlo Alberto Affiliate at the Collegio Carlo Alberto.

I was born in Turin in 1971 and hold a PhD in Political Science from the University of Pavia, and a Laurea in Economics from Bocconi University of Milan. I was Visiting Scholar at UC Berkeley, Department of Political Science.
I am a member of the Editorial Board of Rivista Italiana di Scienza Politica, Italy’s leading political science journal.
My research interests lie in Comparative social policy analysis, European social policy and European integration. I am currently researching on the interplay between labour markets and social protection systems in advanced political economies, on the impact of European integration on domestic social policy governance in the EU Member States, and on the quality of democracy in Europe.
